i hate being that person who comments on posts but i just want u all to know that i watch this video all the fucking time every year once it hits september bc nothing gets me more pumped for christmas than this person rocking out w/ their mom while their mom windexes a countertop

if you had your country kicking out elderly people off the home they’ve own all their life and giving them no support or alternative to live at just to give the refugees a place to live, maybe you wouldn’t have that opinion. maybe if you saw homeless people living in the streets because they get no support from their government while same government helps refugees, maybe you wouldn’t have that opinion. Maybe if you had refugees leaving your country after being helped, being given a home, work and food, with the justification that “The country doesn’t offer us enough, we want better homes and better jobs and more money. For the ones coming here, choose Germany or France instead” maybe you wouldn’t have that opinion.
They could have chosen Africa to go to. They have homes there too, and food, and freedom. But theres not 5star houses our 2k/month salaries.. and it so happens that refugees are picky about what they are offered from good will.
My family raised me to be humble and accept/take whatever (help) was offered to me, it being a lot or little. Maybe that “little” someone gave me was their “everything”.
Just a thought from someone who is living the refugees “drama” and opposes the entry.
Whoa, hold the fuck up. I’m fucking homeless, due to rents being jacked up, and don’t try and speak for me. I don’t get any assistance because I “make too much money” but I somehow can’t get or afford and apartment.
Even if I didn’t make too much money, in my city lower income housing is done on a lottery system. The number of people facing homelessness here have more than doubled, the number of available lottery thingies has stayed the same.
Our government representatives refuse to do anything about it and nobody has cared until they can use it to justify their racism.
Furthermore, the refugees don’t get any say in where their placement is going to be. If they have family members in a certain country that may influence where they go, but not always.
Anyway, don’t use people who are homeless to justify your xenophobia. If you aren’t homeless you don’t get to speak for us.
